Course Description:
The corporate communications/PR student will examine the creation, management, maintenance and promotion of online content. This includes planning and producing of information for websites and through the use of Web 2.0 tactics like blogs, podcasts and social media networks. Students will develop online authoring skills.
The corporate communication student in this course plans and produces information for the web, using web authoring software to publish content. Through lecture, case studies and hands on coding/content management practice, the student also examines the management, maintenance and promotion of web content.
Course Learning Outcomes:
· Develop an online communication plan that effectively uses web and social media tactics
· Demonstrate, through the creation of web content, the ability to write for the digital medium
· Create a basic blog that meets defined objectives
· Contribute to and demonstrate understanding of the development of audio material for the web
· Demonstrate through bookmarking an understanding of social media monitoring
